P-36A Ser No 38-020 was flown in November 1938 with an R-1830-25
engine offering 1100 hp for takeoff. This airplane was redesignated
P-36B. It attained a maximum speed of 313 mph. The airplane was
subsequently converted back to P-36A standards.
