Northrop F-5E/F in Service with Austria

In 2005, the SAAB Draken fleet serving with the Austrian Air Force were retired, to be replaced by the Eurofighter Typhoon. Delays in the Eurofighter program caused a dozen F-5E fighters were leased from Switzerland as a stopgap measure. These were returned to Switzerland when the Eurofighters were delivered.
