Freedom Fighter in Service with Pakistan

Last revised January 1, 2000

Pakistan was never officially a F-5 user, but there is some evidence that some F-5s were operating in that country during the 1971 war with India. Saudi Arabia supplied F-86s and F-5 expertise. Libya sent a "training unit" of F-5s which operated from Sargodha until 1976. They saw action against India, and two were lost. There is some evidence that the Pakistan Air Force acquired a few ex-Iranian F-5As in the early 1970s before passing them on to Greece.
